What are Epididymal Cysts?

The term "epididymal cyst" refers to a small, clear fluid-filled sac that forms in the epididymis. The function of epididymis is to store and move the sperm from the testicles. When fluid accumulates within the epididymis a cyst may form. Epididymal cysts are seen at all ages but occur predominantly in adult males. They may appear on one or both sides of the scrotum and vary in size, from several millimetres to several centimeters. The cyst may remain unchanged in size for several years. Urine Test: This is advised when bacterial infection or inflammation is suspected.

Blood Tests: Blood tests are not routinely required for simple epididymal cysts but may be ordered if another condition is suspected.
